Here's a new thread to kick off the vedder river in 2009. Fished the mid river this morning and had the float disappear once but didnt hook up. Talked to another guy who didnt have much luck either. Stopped in at Fred's on the way home and heard a few fish had been weighed in earlier.........

Hey Franky_Mai welcome to FishTactics! I dont fish the Vedder myself but Im sure some of the other members will be able to point you in the right direction. There should be fish throughout the lower and mid river by now though.

I fished around lickman for 3 hrs on saturday and wasn't rewarded for my efforts. There was one guy downstream of me who said he landed 2 wild ones but something seemed fishy about his story because he arrived after me and I was watching him fish the whole time and didn't see him get into anything

PS nice fish wiens

I cant get it to work when I press play just a black video screen. I suspect the river is flooded by now.

Well I was kind of joking around... I will not be fishing until next weekend probably. The river is totally blown and will be totally new when it comes back down. It is on the fall right now but it is a long ways from fishable. Up top will not be any better. It will be way to fast and will still be brown from all the runoff.

Im thinking around 4-5 days minimum before it is fishable. That is assuming the snow level stays where it is at (came way down today) and that no new slides happen.

If anyone is planning on fishing this weekend, please exercise extreme caution. Do not wade into the river and be careful on the banks, you never know when they could just give out. It would probably be best to give it a rest until conditions stabilize a bit.

Its a Live Streaming feed of the river...you don't have to press play ..just let the page load for a couple of minutes...(I think it was knocked out by the storm...but its working again now)...I leave it open all day in a small box and just open another page to work of of. Give it a chance its worth it.

I just wish I knew where it was being controlled from....its the most active cam I've ever seen. Upstream then downstream ...zooms in and out ...great tool if you have to drive any distance to get to the river.

Was out today. Didn't go higher than Tamahi. My initial plans were to go up higher but it took 20 mins just to get to tamahi with all the construction going on so I stayed put especially with more just up from the tamahi bridge. Lots of slides up that way, even a house got taken out. Use caution when coming around the corner just before the tamahi bridge, the road got washed out and only 1 car can get through at a time. Visability is cloudy but around 2 feet, so the whole river is fiahable now. Good Luck to those wanting to go out.

<<image>>

Idea to give you what water looks like, rock around 1.5 - 2 feet sub-surface.
