Hey folks. Nice site, seems to be a few Steelhead bums like me on here. Hopefully I can add to good discussions on here.
Have a great Steelhead season and a Merry Christmas.

Good afternoon Folks. Im 29 years old been fishing and hunting since I was old enough to walk. Just moved to Comox from Ontario. I have lived here for about a week and don't plan on ever leaving :) Spent that time trying to read the regs and figure out where to go, and what is allowed, barbless, not barbless, bait, no bait, C&L etc. Quite a chore to say the least. Been only a river rat back in Ontario, so im excited as it seems ive timed it pretty decent for the steelies. I am well suited for the rivers, Waders, 12 foot St croix etc. If anyone feels the need to shoot me a pm on where i should start and what i should be using that would be great. I'll be spnding some time in local fishing stores trying to learn everything i can over the next week or so. Sorry for the wall of text. Good luck.
Lorne Parker

Good evening fellow fisher persons. Just heard about this site and like what I see. Have been a member of several others and enjoy sharing ideas and results of my fishing adventures.
Been fishing and hunting all my life, mostly in the BC interior and northern Alberta. Done my share of lake and stream fly fishing and trolling. Now we live in Nanaimo and are mainly interested in salt water fishing, salmon mostly, but always willing to accept any bottom fish the Fish Gods decide to let us have. As long as the wind stays down, it doesn't really matter what season it is, we'll be out there, prawning, crabbing and dragging a hook.
During the summer we mostly fish the canal, based out of our seasonal camp spot at Macktush Creek.
See you on the water.
Cheers from the Crew of Stress Medicine

uncle_lele, forgot to welcome you last week....Welcome to FishTactics. Im sure you'll find plenty here willing to help you with fishing the Stamp.
SpringFever552, Welcome to the site! Should be plenty of members here to help you get into river fishing. Might want to send member ''Steelhead'' a pm. He's your neighbour and likes to help fellow anglers out.
LorneParker, Welcome to BC! You'll love it in Comox. I agree the regs can be difficult to decipher for newcomers so when in doubt call up the local CO or DFO for clarification. There was once some great little steelhead streams all the way along the east side of the island but the runs became so depleted most closed down in the 90's. You'll want to look west, or north to find some steel. Most like the Stamp river in Port Alberni, a very popular river because it produces a lot of hatchery steelhead. If you want any info, best to post specific questions in the forum so that more people are able to help.
stressmedicine, welcome aboard! I'm pretty sure Ive seen your boat fishing the inlet before, defintely recognize the name. A lot of people come here for alberni and barkley sound tips and reports so should suit you well.

Hello from the south. Ran across one of your fine fishers, and after talking a bit about swinging the fly he talked about this site.
I've fished for quite a while and decided it's time to start catching. That means doing more learning from others, and swapping tactics that are working. Looking forward to learning from what you all have to offer. I'll share what I can on my part.
Tight lines,
Bob

Hey everyone, Im 22 years old, from Campbell river.worked as a fishing guide in that area for the last 5 years. grew up fishing the island, both fly and gear, freshwater and salt. still trying to figure out steelhead, but getting closer. currently living in eastern canada(-29 degrees today). usually spend half the year in campbell river, the other half away out here(who moves out east for the winter anyways?) enjoying this website, however the reports are kinda making me jealous these days.

Hi All
I'm the owner/operator of Masset Fishing Adventures... Best job in the world I go fishing and my wife thinks I'm working.
When I get a day off I go fishing with one of my buddies except we call it ''research and development''. Did I mention I love fishing...

Hi,I'm Doug Montgomery from West Kelowna BC. What a pleasure to discover this site, a site where everyone here has the same thing in common, the love of the outdoors and in particular the passion of fishing. After many yrs of fly fishing the interior mountain lakes for rainbows i have discovered my true calling, spending as much time as possible on the Fraser Valley rivers for salmon etc. You will be hearing from me either here or on the Vedder ''FISH ON'' PS.THANK GOD THE TOLL IS GONE LOL
