hey all, new to the site but not new to fishing in the ocean, primarily around parksville, and port alberni. i am also starting to get into steelhead and fresh water. looking forward to all the usefull information.

First time poster long time reader... thought it was time to sign up now that the peak season is winding down. Have had several trips this year from sockeye in Alberni Inlet, offshore,French Creek and of course Nanaimo! Have enjoyed reading the forum on tactics and reports for the last two seasons...thanks to all that have taken the time to post and look forward to sharing (or scaring) you with some future tactics and tomfoolery!

Spudcote, long term lurker, first time poster...
real name Tom, finally able to travel Vancoubver Island and do some more fishing.
My truck is pretty easy to recognize, has ''this truck is black'' on the tailgate. Come over and say hi if you see it cruising around.

Hey people hows it going ,just joined after hearing about this site last week,Im a born and raised a Port Alberni fisherman ,salmon,steelhead ,trout what ever swims in the waters around here, once in awhile i will leave this fish heaven and fish other popular spots on the island just for a chance to enjoy the other sites on this island,im looking forward in readind the fishing reports and sharing a report when ever anybody needs a report on anything in this area,thanks and good fishing..

Hi all,
Been a member for a couple months and a lurker for a while before that. From the Sunny Okanagan Valley. We fish mostly rainbows. But we get to salmon fish for Springs on the South Thompson river. My biggest: 32LBS and my girlfriends biggest: 25Lbs. We love the island and try to make it down fishing at least once a year. Will be on the Island this year(2011) the first week of May. Anyone want to take us fishing? I'll buy gas, lunch and beverages.

hey guys fairly new to the site thought id write a quick note.I grew up fishing with my grandpa and uncle in tashis bc just north of gold river, off the dock of the resort my grandparents managed, my uncle and grandpa both have a huge passion for fishing and got me addicted to salmon fishing before i could ride a bike .Im 16 now and currently saving my money for my first fishing boat. i have a huge passion for salmon and halibut fishing and hope to make it part of my career one day  i cant get out as much as i d like seeing as i dont have my own boat but i usually go fishing all summer out at secertary island in sooke with my uncle and grandpa trying to catch that 50 lb tyee we all want i love the site its nice to talk other people that like to fish just as much as i do and i plan to use it for a longtime
good luck out on the water

Hi all,
Names Mike and since moving to the Okanagan that has been my main area of fishing, mainly rivers and streams or shore fishing on the lakes, but being an original coast guy I still get out to Bamfield and Ucluelet areas at least a couple times a year with friends or a guide.....but as of just recently I picked myself up an older Fiber Form 24ft Cabin Cruiser so it should definitely make the coastal trips more frequent and the home lake fishing much better! Glad I was introduced to this site as I think its great!
