I will be heading out for Tahsis the second week of August for about 10-days.Everybody I have talked to, tell me to use a Anchovy w/teaser head and 11''flasher.Theres got to be more good options, such as cutplug herring, hootchies, and spoons. If you have a great setup and would like to share that would be great.

Well ''Tomic Lures'' test fishes all of their plugs and spoons in Nootka sound so Im sure those lures must catch fish there. Ive heard from a few others on this board that the 5 and 6'' tomic plugs work good in Nootka. The 6'' road runner spoons apparently work well offshore on the highway. I've never actually been able to fish Nootka Sound myself so I really dont know first hand.
You'll be up there during the peak time too, good luck!

When I fished Tahsis we ran out to Nootka Isl and fished close to the rocks and just used the standard good ole' anchovie teaser heads, oki fashers and a long leader.. 2 days of fishing we had 2 coho in the low 20's, 2 in the high teens and a ****load of big springs. So my suggestion is don't complicate an easy thing. Good Luck

I agree with OFISHAL stay with what works. Unless you just have a lot of extra money and your boat doesn't need gas.

The UV Tomic plugs worked good in Nootka a couple of years ago. We observed that most of the boats were fishing with flashers and bait.
