so the fish they truck back down river , does this mean that they are all hatch fish and they want you to catch em

I'm pretty sure they are all hatchery fish to my knowledge. It doesnt make sense to me that they would also truck wild fish back downstream to be caught again. Most of the summer runs that Ive caught in the fall have been hatchery clipped. I doubt anyone would keep them as most are pretty colored up but yes they are being trucked back down stream for anglers to enjoy. That is the only purpose for doing this.

Theres summer run fish throughout the system and a few winters showing up. The river is high like kromer has mentioned and the jet boats are doing much better than the shore guys. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I believe there is no dam anymore! I was in the upper last week and did OK. Lots of steel up there but a tough go to get them to bite! I still had a good day out though!

Sorry not an actual dam but flow control regulators. They are letting lots of H20 flow in from GCL

I just moved to Calgary permanently last year but was born and raised in BC and have been fishing vancouver island for a good 20 years now. Fishing in Alberta is pretty good but having lived in BC for so long I now realize how spoiled I was to have fishing like that in my own backyard. Anyways back on topic, let us know how you make out on your trip and welcome to the site.

I was up there today nice enough day, waters up a bit for sure, stung a couple but lost before I could find out if they were summers or winter runs. No fish landed -spoke to one guy who kept a hatchery summer run

Ya your right cory, water levels were low and clear,I tried to fish moneys for first light but theres a big house there, so i went on the anglers trail i think its kinda new, cause some of the locals didnt know what i was talkin about.Anyways went in there and came out to a nice rippley run, but i didnt last long for as i was fishin with 1 bear below me and 1 bear behind me and 1 bear across from me so i figured since i was alone id better leave. So i headed down to the falls and hiked in and there was 3 fished caught on the other side 2 small and one large, i didnt see them personally but a couple guys told me that just before i got there.decided to head to the gun range water wasnt to bad down there, clear but a good flow, didnt see or hear of any caught there but 2 guys came out with there pontoons and they only got 1, i believe they got it up near the falls, cause i saw them fishin there when i was there. so all in all i dont think theres alot of fish in there right now but its still nice to get on a different flow once in a while.

Too bad you didnt hit anything but fishing new water is always fun. Access to the upper by foot is a lot more difficult than below the falls and I havent yet been on the new anglers trail. I dont fish the upper river very often just because of the limited access points.

The fish are tough to catch when the flow is low and clear though.

Sounds like the fishing got a lot tougher with the lower water. Might be worth fishing marabou jigs in deep holes when the water gets low and clear on the stamp...its worked for me in the past.
