Area Near Bamfield Picking Up but Still on slow Side

There have been some sport and Charter fishing boats out on the water in the Bamfield area over the last while. On Monday one angler was fortunate to pick up three feeder Chinook on the Bamfield Wall. Yesterday one guide was fishing Kirby where there was some lingering bait and for guests from Edmonton he picked up three beautiful chrome Chinook with the biggest weighing in at 12 pounds. The fish seem to be hitting bait in a clear or green rhys Davis Teaser Head behind a green or red flasher. The Halibut fishing out off Ucluelet is really picking up. One angler fished 7 miles out from Cape Beale and at 200 feet trolled up a fifteen pound hali. The fishng for both salmon and halibut should really begin to pickup. The Ucluelet fishng over the past week has really become quite good. This should be true for the Bamfield area soon as migrating salmon make their way down the coast of Vancouver Island.
