Some Coho and the odd Chinook
Salmon fishing has been a tough go for many diehards that are staying close to Bamfield. The Wall,Wittlestone and Beale have all produced some fish but not a lot to report. Guide Mel had a good Tuesday picking up four nice 10 to 12 pound Coho along the Bamfield Wall. Using green hootchies mainly T Rex and the green spatterback Mel supplied guests with a bit of action. Fortunately the four Hatchery Coho that hit were all landed. A sport fishermen reported plenty of Coho off of Beale. Reports that there are big numbers of Coho at 7 mile off of Folger Island seem to be holding true. If the wind stays down that area may be a good place to hit on the upcoming weekend. Kirby, Sanford and the back side of Fleming Island could also produce some nice fish over the next several days. It is not quite mid September and there should still be plenty of salmon to come into the area.
