Naden Harbour - Northern Haida Gwaii summer 2011 - Fishing Report

Early June Fishing has been good. Not as many fish showing up early like last year, but way more Chinook salmon over 30lbs are being caught. Everyday there are multiple Tyees (Chinook over 30lbs) being caught. The ground fishing has been good, with large Halibut being caught within 100ft of the shore. Last week there was a 85lb Hali that a self guided guest landed, even though his first attempt to harpoon the fish ended in a broken harpoon!

Freshwater and Saltwater Guide - Ian Barker
Vancouver Island is unique in Canada, as we can sport fish 12 months of the year either in the ocean or in the rivers and lakes. The island has THE best year round fishery in the world. Being born and raised a fisherman on this island, I've learned over the last 40years when, where and how to fish in this island's unique fishery.

I'm a Freshwater/Saltwater guide and fishing blogger for Salmon, Halibut, Steelhead and Trout on Vancouver Island, BC. Contact me if you would like to book a fishing adventure! And check out my Vancouver Island fishing blog.
