Look for Some Good Fall Fishing in the Stamp

With the returns of West Coast Vancouver Island Chinook and Coho to be above average the salmon fishing for all sport fisher persons in ''All Salt Water'' locations in late July and into early September should be very good. The Stamp River will reap the benefits of these forecasted returns and will see a steady migration of returning salmon beginning in the last half of August which will continue right into October. Returns to the local hatchery are forecast to be very good. The wild return to the Stamp should also be excellent. Sport fishing for salmon in the Stamp usually gets underway just after the Labor Day Weekend. The Chinook and Coho usually travel in big schools and create some world class fishing opportunities for those that enjoy river angling. The peak part of the run is usually from the last half of September to sometime after Thanksgiving. The Fall Steelhead usually come into play when the natural spawn begins which again is traditionally around the tenth of October. The is also the time period when the best fly fishing begins for those avid river fly fisher persons. Look for some world class angling this fall on the Stamp River.
