With some change in weather conditions and the salmon migrating to their natal streams, creeks and rivers the sport fishing has been slower over the past five or six days. Pill Point, Swale Rock, Fleming Island the Bamfield Wall and Wittlestone have all provided some great fishing in the month of September. The Chinook have been averaging from the mid teens to mid twenties and the Coho have been up to eighteen pounds. The best opportunities for sport fishing over the past weekend was around Pill Point and Blood Bay and also along the Poett Nook Wall toward Sarita Bay. Coho Salmon are in more abundance than Chinook. They are in shallower water and are still hitting anchovy in a variety of teaser heads but are also interested in white hootchies and also a variety of greens. Hopefully some fishing opportunity for Coho will continue until the end of the current month. There has been some great Coho fishing in the Tofino area and also toward Ucluelet along Salmon Beach and down to Toquort Bay. We are now organizing accommodation and fishing packages for the 2018 year. Call Doug at 250 724 2502.
